Soil Nails/Tie Back Anchors

Hobsonville Overpass Wall

1400 Soil nails were installed on this project. There is 3000m² of Shot crete wall that is held entirely by soil nails. The dead line for these walls were critical, as they were to enable 355,000m³ of excavation before the wet winter months. Ancor Loc completed the project on time, which was considered un-achievable by others.

Cambridge to Karapiro Cycleway

Ancor loc used an alternative design to win the 110 metre long Crow’s Nest section of the Cambridge to Karapiro Cycleway. This section of the cycleway was to be cantilevered from the road edge and overhanging a steep drop down to the Waikato River. The rowing world championships were being held at Karapiro so the two month deadline was critical. We replaced the original precast counter weighted structure design with a more economical and efficient design. Using ground anchors, steel beams and precast double tees, the cost and time frame were in our favour. The Epoxy-Loc Anchors ranged from 7 – 20+ metres long.

Kennedy Park Beach Access

This site was very steep and the foundations were a combination of timber poles, micro piles and ground anchors. Anchor Loc’s Epoxy-Loc coating was used to protect the ground anchors from the corrosive elements they would face.

Soil Nail Mesh Slope, Totara Heights, Auckland

Stabilizing the slope was a requirement for consent on this site. A special rig was used to install these soil nails. The distance from the building to the slope was a mere 1.3 metres in places.
